Hello!

In Jan/Feb this year my partner and I are hosting the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour in the UK. I don’t know if you have heard of the Banff festival but it is one of the best and most renowned Mountain Film Festivals in the world.

We believe the Banff festival will be a great event – the films are brilliant (we are showing the best short films from the festival) and it has a great international reputation. This is our first year though so we are really keen just to get the word out there to people who love the outdoors.

Our London dates are Wednesday the 3rd Feb and Thurs 4th Feb at the Union Chapel in Islington which is an amazing Grade 2 listed Victorian gothic chapel right near Highbury and Islington station (one stop on the Victoria line from Kings Cross) – appreciate it is a little way from Milton Keynes but would be brilliant if some of your members could make it. Tickets are £11 (no booking fees or anything like that). And the bar will be open from 6:30pm! The festival will feature some great climbing films as well as other mountain based films such as paragliding (including incredible aerial footage of Mont Blanc), mountain biking, skiing/boarding and canoeing/kayaking to name a few!

The screening will have a really friendly, festive atmosphere (as it does in all other countries it tours where most shows sell out). We have lots of other local outdoor groups that will be coming to the shows. There will be lots of prize giveaways as well each night (including an overall prize of a 7 day trek to Mont Blanc).

Would you be interested in mentioning the event to your group as a possible social event?? (on a forum or perhaps an email mention to your members). Let me know if there is anything else you would like to make it a good night out for your group. The night will be over before 10:30pm so should be easy for people to get back to Milton Keynes afterwards.

The bar will be open during the evening, including intermission and therefore might be a nice winter get-together for your members.

Feel free to have a look at our website www.banff-uk.com (there is a trailer here and a bit of info about the films) and any questions/feedback about coming please let me know! Would be brilliant if you could make it!

Kind Regards,

Simon
