The trip to Arco promised three things climbing, Via Ferrata and pizza eating.Based on this criteria the trip was a great success.
With fifty plus pitches of climbing taking place, One Via Ferrata ticked and many pizzas eaten.
Having a hand in the trip organisation, I had worries about the dreaded Arco polish. Thankfully these were unfounded, a small about of wear was encountered, far worse can be found at Stanage.
Trip highlights? Friction climbing at Corno DI Bo in the setting sun, with lake Garda at the foot of the climb. The climbing was never hard, but the ever increasing run outs focused the mind.
The other must visit crag is Val Lamasone a stunning green valley far away from the crowds of Riva. Slabs and cracks are the order of the day, with all out burly required on one climb, the next smeary foot work and balance.
Thanks to all those who made this trip possible.
