Hoping to see as many as possible joining in the fun! Anything goes but just make sure your outfit is safe to climb in please πHere is the online link for donations if you prefer to donate this way rather than in cash. Please put Milton Keynes Mountaineering Club Fundraiser in the message part so we can get a total for the evening. Thank you, Gill π§ββοΈ

Pizzas are back! For tomorrow's Winter Warmer we'll be offering an old favourite for you to fuel your session on! We'll have pizzas cooking throughout the night and available to munch down on every hour from 5pm onwards.
We'll be selling by the slice, so if you're just looking for a snack to keep you going or an entire pizza as a post-climb treat then we've got you covered!
Unfortunately we haven't been able to source enough ingredients for vegan and gluten free options, but we will be offering alternatives based on some of our past Winter Warmer favourites! ... See MoreSee Less

I did but can't get it to upload. If you want a copy DM me.
I had a great trip. Did anyone get a photo of the stag wandering down the road past the bus…

I like the new gallery!! Cool! Looking forward to all the year’s climbing pictures π
Hello Matt, how did Froggat go at the weekend? Myself and Lee (the guy i usually climb with at Big Rock) went to Horseshoe Quarry Saturday and had a good time despite the cold!!!
@Bob
Hi Bob,
The Peak was great! I had a warm up at Birchen on Saturday afternoon and led a few routes there (Monument Gully Buttress being the stand out route of the day) and the to Froggatt where I met up with MKMC lot. It was good fun and managed to lead a few routes I’ve seconded before: Tody’s Wall & Three Pebble Slab. Alan led a good HVS called Avalanche Wall.
We went up on Sunday (17/6/12) and its still the same. Got to love the GREAT British Summertime! Didn’t spoil our day either.
Shame it hasn’t proved to be the warm up to a good climbing year as yet. Feeling rustier than ever. Indian summer guaranteed
A nice summary of an excellent weekend. I can thoroughly recommend the Snakes & Ladders Route in rain or shine as we had a superb day and there’s plenty more to explore.
Haggis, neeps & tatties always go down a treat so thanks to all that cooked.
Looking forward to getting back to North Wales for the February Meet.
It sounds as if you had a great time. I wish I could have been there, but sometimes life just gets in the way!
Another great weekend in North Wales. As much as I enjoyed my run on Sunday and a Snowdon summit all to myself, I was gutted not to be able to climb. The weather was stunning all day Sunday and pictures just dont do it justice.
The North Ridge & Ridge Traverse of Crib Goch was one helluva struggle to get up to but well worth the effort, conditions were positively alpine so lots of fun!
An epic trip. Well done to everyone who survived the weekend!
Excellent report Alan!
Thoroughly enjoyed Arco and will most definitely go back.
’twas a great trip, so lucky with the weather especially Sunday. Thoroughly enjoyed myself so thanks to everyone for their company.
Roll on December.
Nice report Alan, I’m so glad at least one of us is eloquent enough to put some words together about our exploits!
Can’t wait to go back.
I concur with Bob’s comments. The YMC cottage was really comfortable – almost too good for the hardened mountaineers that we all are!
A great weekend, if perhaps a little windy. Thanks to Andy and Emma for organising. Looking forward now to the January meet.
What a busy year the club has had and thanks for your report Andy. If 2014 is as successful as 2013, we’ll be doing really well.
Sounds like a fun trip, shame I couldn’t make it.
Will have to make up for at the Burns meet.
A good year at the MKMC, thoroughly enjoyed myself yet again.
2014 is going to be even better.
I concur, it was a brilliant trip. Pembroke is a great area and definitely worth a re-visit in the not to distant future.
Yet another excellent MKMC trip. Thanks for organising Kent.
Really enjoyed this trip especially as we were so lucky with the weather.
On Sunday Sophie & I actually went for a walk from Worth Matravers down to Winspit along the coastal path to Chapmans Pool for a quick dip before looping back to Worth for cream teas in the quaintest little tea room imaginable. After we met up with Lydia and Sam, who were climbing at Dancing Ledge, and we went for a swim in the pool there whilst enjoying the sunset………perfect!!
And a great time was had by all. Thanks for organising Andy.
Yet another successful meet and great to have so many enthusiastic new members along. Thanks for organising Andy.
Christmas dinner was amazing – thank you Kent and helpers.
It was a very good year – thank you to one and all for making it so. Next year will be even better. The hut meets are already filling up (and it’s not even 2016 yet) and the social life of the club is really starting to buzz.
Sounds like an amazing trip, would loved to have joined you on it. Next time maybe??
A great weekend and a fantastic group of club members.
Great to see lots of interest from indoor climbers venturing to the outdoors.
Thanks Alan for an excellent round-up of last years events – and you and the rest of the committee have made an excellent start to 2019. Thank you.
I’d endorse the last comment. It was a great weekend.
Thanks Alan very good summary. I think it was 8 of us who ended up in Glencoe – and managed Castle Ridge on the Ben despite the conditions. Although it took a good 4.5 hours to do the climb π
Sounds like a great trip, gutted I put my back out and had to give it a miss.
Thanks for organising an excellent weekend Shane. Sorry you had to drink so much coffee on Sunday – Bob thanks for your speedy run, when you thought one of us was injured. Hero!!
You missed the plunge pool action!! The best feature of any club hut I’ve stayed in.
Off to North Wales in early August for 10 days. Hopingto climb A Dream of White Horses
I had a great trip. Did anyone get a photo of the stag wandering down the road past the bus stop in Lochranza?
I did but can’t get it to upload. If you want a copy DM me.
