19-28 June – Cortina d’Ampezzo Italy

Friday 20 – Hollentalanger Hutte
Alan, Dan, Malcolm, Peter, Gill and Rob parked up in Hammersbach and walked up the Hollental gorge – an amazing super narrow deep river gorge combined with mining museum – up to the Hollentalanger Hutte (DAC). There we spent the night – they very kindly gave us a group room.

21-28 May

In 2017 Gill attempted and didn’t summit Mt Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa. This was due to lack of acclimatisation on an organised trip. Gill decided to put a strong team together and try again with lots of moral support. Early in 2024 discussions began and Gill researched a company who offered a longer itinerary with more suitable acclimatisation hikes on the way up. She found and booked Lakeland Mountain Guides, for whom her friend Felicity works as a guide.

10-13 April

The combination of a good weather forecast and an influx of keen new members in the club meant that this was one of the most over-subscribed trips in the club’s history. The Chester club hut sleeps 18 people and we could have almost filled it twice over. In the end, we had a full hut and at least 9 people in a combination of tents, vans, yurts and hotels around Llanberis.

14-16 March.

Our annual visit to the Yorkshire Ramblers hut at Lowstern in North Yorkshire was pushed back to March on the successful hunt for better weather. Cars were loaded up with people, kit, food and firewood. Would anyone be successful on a Three Peak’s challenge this year? Read on to find out . . . .
