Members climb regularly at Big Rock on Thursday evenings, starting 19:00 alternating between Hub at Kingston and Bond in Bletchley, see our WhatsApp Chat Group.
Club meets are open to members of all abilities and the organiser will book hut accommodation on behalf of the club or, for camping meets, members will need to book their own.
All members are welcome on independent meets but these trips are aimed at a more intermediate level of activity with more autonomy, where activities and accommodation will be down to individuals to organise.

September 19-21: Camping meet – Beeches Farm Campsite, Wye Valley. Organiser – Gill.
Cost £24 for the weekend – payable to MKMC. We will have a group area with 10 pitches reserved initially.

September 20-27: Camping meet – Lundy Campsite. Organiser Kieran D (K2).
Travel to and from the island is by boat (MS Oldenburgh, foot passengers only), departing Ilfracombe at 10am on Saturday 20th September, and returning 4pm Saturday 27th September. Shorter stays are possible, with sailings on Tuesday 23rd and Thursday 25th, but note that these depart/arrive from/to Bideford.
Cost: camping is £17 per night; boat return is £97 (additional fee of £50 may be charged for helicopter transfer in the event of rough seas). This will be a self-booked trip, though please speak to the meet organiser prior to booking.
Activities: This is primarily intended as a climbing trip, although walking (note that Lundy is a small Island), birdwatching, fishing and diving are also available on Lundy. The Island Warden also organises events through the year.
Lundy boasts immaculate granite sea cliffs up to 120m in height, amongst stunning scenery and wildlife. Please note: the climbing on Lundy is of an adventurous trad nature, on multi-pitch tidal sea cliffs with long (up to 100m) abseil approaches. There is no Rockfax coverage for Lundy, and while the Climbers’ Club are typically less generous with their stars, there are comparably few ‘starred’ green (Mod-Severe) routes on Lundy. By contrast, there is a much greater concentration of starred orange (Hard Severe- Hard Very Severe) routes.
Those planning to climb should be competent in seconding trad and abseiling, and comfortable with the exposure that comes with long abseils and multi-pitch climbing. Those looking to lead will need to ensure that they have the appropriate gear for the long abseils. We will also need to ensure an appropriate balance of leaders/seconds on this trip, so again please speak to the meet organiser prior to booking.
