Members climb regularly at Big Rock on Thursday evenings, starting 19:00 alternating between Hub at Kingston and Bond in Bletchley, see our WhatsApp Chat Group.
Club meets are open to members of all abilities and the organiser will book hut accommodation on behalf of the club or, for camping meets, members will need to book their own.
All members are welcome on independent meets but these trips are aimed at a more intermediate level of activity with more autonomy, where activities and accommodation will be down to individuals to organise.

June 06-08: Camping meet – Sweet Hill Farm, Portland, Dorset. Organiser – Neal.
Cost is £13 per person per night. This is a self booked meet so please sort out your own pitch and payment.
Activities: Portland is a prime sport climbing area with multiple cliffs across the grade range. Access is generally via paths and short fixed ladders rather than abseil. It is also on the Jurassic Coast with walks along the costal paths and the sea is there for a swim after climbing or other activities. You could even paddle board.
June 21-28: International meet – Cortina, Dolomites, Italy. Organiser – Peter.
Costs depend on final accommodation choice but as a rough guide:
- Flight from Birmingham or Gatwick to Verona – £300 including hold bag
- Accommodation – to be split between (up to 11) attendees but around £300-£450. Will be an AirBnB apartment or such like. You are also welcome to camp but you will have to arrange this yourself and I suspect that unless you are driving kit size is an issue.
- If you wish to come and stay in the accommodation please pay a deposit of £200 into our Club bank account. Please include your name and “June 25”’ as a comment. Email the trip organiser to let them know you have paid – first come first served.

September 20-27: Camping meet – Lundy Campsite. Organiser Kieran D (K2).
Travel to and from the island is by boat (MS Oldenburgh, foot passengers only), departing Ilfracombe at 10am on Saturday 20th September, and returning 4pm Saturday 27th September. Shorter stays are possible, with sailings on Tuesday 23rd and Thursday 25th, but note that these depart/arrive from/to Bideford.
Cost: camping is £17 per night; boat return is £97 (additional fee of £50 may be charged for helicopter transfer in the event of rough seas). This will be a self-booked trip, though please speak to the meet organiser prior to booking.
Activities: This is primarily intended as a climbing trip, although walking (note that Lundy is a small Island), birdwatching, fishing and diving are also available on Lundy. The Island Warden also organises events through the year.
Lundy boasts immaculate granite sea cliffs up to 120m in height, amongst stunning scenery and wildlife. Please note: the climbing on Lundy is of an adventurous trad nature, on multi-pitch tidal sea cliffs with long (up to 100m) abseil approaches. There is no Rockfax coverage for Lundy, and while the Climbers’ Club are typically less generous with their stars, there are comparably few ‘starred’ green (Mod-Severe) routes on Lundy. By contrast, there is a much greater concentration of starred orange (Hard Severe- Hard Very Severe) routes.
Those planning to climb should be competent in seconding trad and abseiling, and comfortable with the exposure that comes with long abseils and multi-pitch climbing. Those looking to lead will need to ensure that they have the appropriate gear for the long abseils. We will also need to ensure an appropriate balance of leaders/seconds on this trip, so again please speak to the meet organiser prior to booking.

October 10-12: Hut meet – The Robertson Lamb Hut, Langdale, Lake District. Organiser – Dan.
Cost £15 per person per night, plus optional £2 per trip sustainability surcharge.

Lower-level walks are available along the Cumbria Way and across into Little Langdale, with caves providing some additional interest of you can find them. Ambleside and the wider Lake District is only a short drive away, with plenty more classic walks, such as the Fairfield Horseshoe.
Scout Crags, Side Pike and Raven Crag are all within easy walking distance of the hut. In addition, for those climbers not averse to carrying trad gear up a mountain, there are various crags on or around Bow Fell, including Gimmer Crag.
There are also scrambling options on the Langdale pikes, such as the classic Jack’s Rake on Pavey Ark.

Activities: Situated at the head of Cwm Cywarch in the Aran Mountains, an area of unspoilt climbing and walking, visitors to Bryn Hafod will not be bored! Climbing in the area is detailed in the Meirionnydd Guide published by The Climbers’ Club.
Craig Cywarch with 70+ ‘trad’ routes ranging from M to E7 is very accessible from Bryn Hafod. Over the last few years, a number of routes have been cleaned of vegetation making them easier to find and climb safely.
