Please note all MKMC meets are listed as starting on a Friday, as many members choose to head out during the day or after work on the Friday. Likewise on bank holidays the meet covers the extended weekend. Anyone not able to do this is still more than welcome – just arrive at the venue at any time that suits you and stay as long or as short as you want.
Club members are generally in attendance at Big Rock Climbing Centre, Kingston, Milton Keynes on Tuesdays and Thursdays and are happy to meet members new and old to climb or discuss any club activity. If you cant spot them by their T-shirts please ask at the counter and they will be happy to point you in a members direction.
The club has an official ‘social evening’ four times a year. People come to eat, drink and share stories, discuss future trips or just to catch up with people they haven’t seen for a while. It is a great opportunity for people interested in the club to come along, say hi and ask whatever questions are on their mind. Some people wear MKMC t-shirts, but if you can’t spot a group of ‘mountaineering types’ then ask at the bar and they will point you in the right direction. Don’t worry about interrupting us if we are deep in conversation, we love to welcome new members and will be happy to stop and find out all about you!
You can check the latest gatherings on the Club facebook page (Milton Keynes Mountaineering Club) where you will also find information about club and unofficial trips.
