MKMC – November Meet 2013 – Coniston
8th-10th November – Lake District – Coniston
The clubs October meet in Coppermines Valley based in Yorkshire Mountaineering Clubs Hut. The YMC cottages close to the Coppermines Youth Hostel and the Barrow Mountaineering Club’s Hut. Access is from the village of Coniston via a Tarmac road between the Black Bull Pub and The Co-operative supermarket. The track becomes steep and unsurfaced. The hut is in a row of cottages on the right above the wooden bridge.
Hut comprises of a large cooking/dining area, a separate small social area with a solid fuel stove. Three dormitories providing a total of 20 bed spaces. To the rear of the cottage there are separate male and female toilets and showers with hot and cold water. There is also a drying room.
